MMA Shirt: MMA Gear and MMA Clothing

Mixed Martial Arts is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. Thousands of adults and children enter the sport every year. As a MMA instructor, I am often asked what gear and clothing does a MMA student need. This is an important question because this is a serious sport and injuries can occur if you do not have the proper gear and clothing. The following gear and clothing is essential:

1. Mouthpiece- A mouthpiece protects the teeth and jaw and reduces concussions. A mouthpiece should conform to the upper teeth so it does not obstruct breathing when your mouth is open.

2. Groin protection-If you are a male this requirement is self explanitory.

3. Rash guard- A rash guard is a tight, spandex type shirt. It is important to wear to prevent staph infections, which are common in MMA dojo's.

4. Boxing/MMA Gloves- You will need boxing gloves for bag work and sparring. 16 oz gloves ar standard. Cheap gloves are made of vinyl and quality gloves are made of leather.

5. Headgear-Headgear helps absorb blows to the head. You should where headgear if you spar.

6. Shin guards- banging legs with a sparing partner is serious pain. I have seen legs get broken.

7. Fight shorts- fight shorts are specifically designed for MMA. The material is flexible. The legs typically have split seems for kicking.

8. Hand wraps-these protect the hands from fracture. You should wrap your hands if you will be doing any punching on bags, mits or sparing.

Well, I'm not going to say that the rash guard counts as an mma shirt, but I guess it's better than no mma shirt. I guess, if the rash guard has a fighter's logo or name, and someone is willing to walk around with it in the real world, then yes, it does count as an mma shirt. Oh well.

MMA Shirt: Popular MMA Merchandise Companies

By now we of course all know about the MMA explosion that has swept through the country and around the world over the last few years. As this has happened, new MMA apparel and MMA merchandise companies have continued to spring up right and left, trying to compete with the likes of Tapout and Affliction.

The thing about Tapout apparel and Affliction merchandise is that both of these companies really know the sport and what it's all about. Neither one is just a company producing clothing, both are knee-deep in the culture of the sport and the lives of the fighters behind the scenes.

That means that the clothing you get from either of these MMA apparel companies really represents the true spirit of what mixed martial arts competition and training is all about. It's intense, it can be violent, it's physically demanding and it's a state of mind that says something about who you are.
You don't just "do" MMA fighting, you are an MMA fighter in and out of the ring. And whether you actually fight and train, or you're just a fan of these competitions, then you want to showcase all of that with MMA t-shirts and clothing that provide people a glimpse into that and let them know what you're all about.

Tapout merchandise has been around basically since the inception of the sport and the founders have played a large in the sport's development and growth, as they have supported fighters, grassroots organizations and more. Affliction is newer but no less authentic, and Affliction gear comes straight from the source as well.

That's not to say that all of the new companies are bad. Many of them provide high quality merchandise at great prices, such as the startup Intimidation Clothing which is beginning to make a name for itself. Even so, the best in the business remains the two big dogs, Affliction and Tapout.
Of course if you're a fan of boxing or other combat sports, you'll still find some great merchandise that you can rock from both Tapout and Affliction. After all, all of those traits mentioned above from intensity to mindset and physical demands are found elsewhere, and so you can train in and wear that kind of merchandise with pride.

If you're looking for a way to support MMA or boxing, show the world a bit about who you are or just find some great looking gear to wear, then you won't be disappointed with either Tapout or Affliction. Both of these companies are as real as it gets, and both represent the best in MMA apparel.
If you want the best in MMA merchandise and apparel, you have to turn to the biggest names. We'll help you find discounts and deals on all Affliction t-shirts and Tapout apparel so you can sport the latest in high quality MMA style.

Very true, if you or someone you know ends up buying an mma shirt, there's a very strong chance that the mma shirt is from Affliction or the UFC. While you can get an mma shirt directly from fighter's webpages, which is probably the best way to support a fighter, there are some really good fighter shirt designs that are affiliated with Tapout, Affliction or the UFC.

We always talk about the style and reasons to buy an mma shirt, and look for the deeper meanings of an mma shirt, but there is mma clothing that is actually substantial and designed specifically for mma and the fight game. Sure an mma shirt looks cool, but there are others that are made to withstand constant wear and tear, some are made as rash guards and even the shorts are designed to give users enough space to kick the opponent's head.

MMA Shirt: MMA Clothing - Perfect For the Fighter and the Fan

If you are a fan of mixed martial arts, or MMA, you know it is one of the most thrilling sports out there. There is so much action that there never is a dull moment during a fight. Even if you are not a fighter yourself, you still can express your love and dedication to the sport by wearing MMA clothing. You have so much to choose from these days because the sport has advanced greatly the past few years. From T-shirts and hoodies to jerseys and shorts, you never will be without your favorite clothing.

The most popular MMA clothing has got to be the T-shirt because it can be worn with just about everything. There are so many brands as well, so you will be able to represent your favorite fighter's sponsor. Not only will you be telling people that you are an MMA fan, you also will be supporting your favorite fighters as well. This is because most fighters have T-shirt companies as their sponsors, so they will get royalty money from each shirt that is sold. Some of them even have signature clothing lines, which is the best way to tell people who your favorite fighter is. You could wear it every time he fights to help cheer him on.

Another popular line of MMA clothing is the youth collection. Just because the fighters are older does not mean that children and teenagers cannot be fans. What better way for them to show people they love MMA than by wearing clothing? Some kids wear football jerseys, so it only makes sense to have your child wear an MMA jersey if that is what he likes. Other clothing that is popular is training gear. You can get shorts, tanks and jackets with your favorite MMA brands on them. Even if you do not train at the gym, you still can work out in style.

Among the fighters, whether professional or amateur, popular MMA clothing extends to the shorts as well. This is one of the most important parts of a fighter's wardrobe because it is one of the few items he wears during a match. Again, there are a variety of brands and styles available. Even a fan could wear them to lounge around in. To see the full clothing line that you can get to show that you are a true MMA fanatic, visit the Web site http://mmawarehouse.com for more information.

  Yes!!!
Finally, people are giving the mma shirt enough credit.
People, buy a dang mma shirt and support the fighters. MMA shirts aren't just clothing for fighters and fans, it is a way to grow the sport vis-a-vis marketing on every fan, and think of all the free mma shirts and sponsorship contracts that fighters are getting. Fighters also need to ear folks, and they don't always win, so their bonus pay isn't always as big as they may have hoped for. Clothing lines often sponsor fighters by giving them free merchandise, maybe a few paychecks, but the most important thing is the feeling of being a professional fighter.

MMA Shirt: 10 Things to Look For When Choosing MMA Gear

If you're new to MMA you might wonder what you need to make the most of your training, and prepare for competitions.

Find out exactly what you need with this guide to MMA Fightwear

1. MMA Gloves
MMA Gloves are designed either for sparring, or for fighting. Sparring gloves are like traditional boxing gloves, and cover the full hand, whilst fight gloves have individual fingers and additional wrist support to make punches more powerful and to protect the wrist. Look for a well fitting glove and help get the most from your punches.

2. MMA T Shirts
Whilst MMA T Shirts are not strictly essential, you will need to wear something on your top half whilst training and sparring. Why not show off your dedication to your sport by wearing your MMA T Shirts for leisure as well as training?

3. MMA Shorts
MMA Shorts are available as training or fight shorts. Training shorts are ideal for all aspects of MMA training, including sparring, running, weight training or even just for wearing on hot days. Look for pockets for keys and money, and some shorts even have an MP3/phone pocket, so you can listen to music whilst you train.
Fighting shorts are designed for competitions and need to cope with the rigours of MMA fighting. Look for additional stitching, extra grip, and true flexibility to allow you carry out your kicks and finishing holds with ease.

4. MMA Shin Guards
MMA shin guards help to protect you against leg attacks, and also help you deliver the perfect kick to your opponent. Look for plenty of padding to protect your legs.

5. MMA Head Guard
MMA head guards are not usually worn during competitions, but are vital for sparring and training. Make sure the one you choose has enough padding to protect you, and enough visibility so that you can still see.

6. MMA Bags
MMA kit bags are designed to hold all your MMA gear, so you need to make sure the one you choose is big enough. Easy to open zips and additional pockets will make finding what you need easy.

7. MMA Hoodies
MMA Hoodies are designed to be easy to take off and put on whilst wearing gloves. Look for additional zips on the cuffs and the waist to help with putting on and taking off. Your hoody is ideal to keep you warm whilst training or sparring, and can be worn between fights at a competition.

8. Gis
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu requires a traditional Gi rather than T shirt and shorts. Make sure you get a suitable Gi, as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is more physical than traditional Jiu Jitsu.

9. Grappling and rashguard tops
Grappling and rashguard tops are designed to be worn under your Gi, and help to protect against skin infections. They also take sweat away from the body, to keep the body dry and muscles warm.

10. Brands
As MMA becomes increasingly popular, many new brands and companies are getting involved. When looking at products, there may be many brands that you haven't heard of that are designed exclusively for MMA. Just because you don't know the brand, doesn't mean it isn't up to the task. After all it is your safety at stake.

If you are not sure what you need, or which brands to consider, why not ask around or look online. You're bound to find out exactly what you need, and where to get it from.

What do you mean an mma shirt is not an essential part of an mma fighter's gear box?!!
Geez! An mma shirt is part of a larger purpose and community, and it easily identifies mma supporters in large crowds of normal people.

The Importance of the Right Kind of Mixed Martial Arts Supplies

MMA which stands for Mixed Martial arts has become the latest rage in all parts of the world. An increasing number of people are in the process of joining MMA training gyms in order to train at this martial art form in the most authentic manner. The most surprising part is that it is not just MMA enthusiasts but also normal people who are indulging in these training sessions as they prove to be a perfect weight loss program.

In order to be able to train like MMA professionals, owning the right kind of supplies is one of the main requisites. You might not want to join the league and take this form as seriously as the professional fighters do, but buying supplies is essential in order to protect you from any serious injury. Hence, while you make your decision to become a part of this world, it is a smart thing to get all the important accessories well in advance.

The MMA gloves are the most basic requirement of MMA kit. It is these gloves that assist the fighter in fighting or sparring. These gloves are different from the normal boxing gloves in a way that these have a support at the wrist to protect the wrist as well as make the punches harder hitting. Also, these MMA gloves have separate fingers and are comparatively thinner. A good pair of gloves is the only way to keep your wrists protected in addition to hitting the opponent as hard as possible.

Another constituent of the MMA training kit is the MMA T-shirt. You are free to wear any normal T-shirt while training but getting a specialized T-shirt will not only help in keeping your muscles warm but also convey to people that you are training for MMA and make you look more fashionable.
MMA shorts come close in the list of the other requisites of the martial art. the peculiarity of these specific shorts keep the fighters' thigh muscles warm and the comfortable fabric makes kicking more easy and convenient, provided they are well fitted. While buying your pair of MMA shorts, pay special attention to the grip and the stitch of the material. A good pair of shorts has a string stitch and a stretchy grip.

A shin guard is essential because it acts as a protective shield for the shin of the fighter and also assists him in kicking his opponent with maximum impact. The head is a very vital body organ. MMA fighters do not wear head guards during matches but a headgear is obligatory for a trainee so as to make sure that he does not cause serious damage to his head while learning MMA.

Other key necessities of a MMA training kit are the grappling and rash guard tops which are supposed to be worn under the traditional Gi. The significance of these supplies is that they guard the skin from infections by absorbing sweat.

Laying their hands on all these necessary supplies is essential for every MMA enthusiast in order to train in a more professional manner as well as ensure that his body does not suffer any serious bruises and damages.

Why People Hate MMA Shirts

MMA shirts are the most popular piece of MMA apparel, there is no shortage of great brands and designs to choose from. In fact, many mma stores carry well over 30 brands at the time of this writing! MMA t-shirts are the most well known type of MMA clothes and the most hated as well.

MMA shirts have been hated by a lot of mma fans and mma practitioners for the wrong reasons. These people think that only mma fighters should wear mma shirts. They think that a guy wearing an mma t-shirt at the mall is a poser. This is ridicules! If the people wearing an NBA shirt are all basketball players and the guys wearing Billabong board shorts at the beach are all surfers then you have every reason to feel mad about the mma shirts situation. But the thing is that mma is a sport and as a sport it has devoted fans that like to wear mma t-shirts! It's not like they are hanging out with a mouthpiece at a bar or have their hand wraps on at the mall. They just want to show their passion! I don't personally own a "branded" (Affliction, Tapout, Silver Star) mma shirt but I can understand the guys that buy them by the dozens.

After all it's a trend and it started with Affliction. Lot's of hand-drawing, gothic skulls, swords and chains. Like any other trend, this will soon fade. I like to wear mma clothes with slogans, alternative mma tees and funny mma shirts. I love the sport and I show my passion with a shirt. Everyone that loves mma should have at least 2 mma shirts. One of their favorite fighter and one with their favorite mma quote.

Somebody asked me the other day why do people with Affliction shirts give him the 'stink-eye'. Well there are some people who enter 'tough-mode' as soon as they put on their mma tee shirt. That's just the way it is. If you want to blame someone, blame the Affliction marketing team. Some fans associate toughness with a shirt and these people probably haven't step foot in a gym, ever! So, don't hate the mma shirts or the mma fans. Both play a vital role to the sport you love.

I agree with this article in so many ways. First off, let people wear whatever they want to. If some guy wears an mma shirt, and he doesn't look like an mma fighter, then maybe he's wearing if for his son who is, or maybe his friend is a big fan, either way they don't really need to justify wearing an mma shirt.
A few year ago, before I became a fighter, I would walk around wearing my pride fc shirt, man it was the best shirt I had, people would seriously come and ask me if I was a fighter and sponsored by pride!?!? Geez, people?! I would then do a quick scope and ask them if they were sponsored by tommy hilfiger because of the shirt they were wearing, and they would quickly say no, and get defensive about it.
I personally like seeing people wearing an mma shirt, because at the very least, if you walk into a crowded room of people, none of which you know, and you see someone wearing an mma shirt, you know that there is a good chance that you have something in common to talk about.

In the end, however, if it's an mma shirt or a ballet shirt or a dog loving shirt, I think its best to just let people wear whatever they want to. After all it's just a shirt.

I am wearing an mma shirt right now, K. Sakuraba shirt - an oldie but goodie.

Why You Need to Own an MMA Shirt

Why You Need to Own an MMA Shirt

Not long ago, there weren't many T-Shirt options available (save Tapout) for casual MMA fans and enthusiasts. Chances were if you wanted to own a shirt with your favorite fighter on it, you were simply out of luck if it wasn't one of a small handful of top tier UFC fighters.

Luckily for the of MMA fans out there times have changed. If you see a fighter on television, there's a good possibility that they have a signature shirt with a reputable MMA brand name attached to it.

Why you need to own an MMA Shirt:
Having a tee with your favorite fighter on the front is incontestably cool. And if you truly support a fighter; you'll wear it during his or her fights to cheer them on. But the best part is that many times you are also helping to support their training since many brand names offer fighters a cut of their merchandising sales.

What if I don't want a Fighter Shirt?
Don't worry because there are many, many MMA shirts out there that are not fighter specific. In fact, some of the larger Mixed Martial Art retailers' stock well over 20 brands of MMA related t-shirts - many of which are not related to a particular fighter.

How you can purchase an MMA Shirt:
Purchasing an MMA shirt is very simple. You can either go to a mall with an MMA Shop store front or make your purchase online. I favor and highly recommend shopping online for the reason that you can often find a much wider variety at a much cheaper price. If you shop at a brick and mortar retailer you're often restricted to a small selection of shirts from only a handful of brands.

Paul is an SEM, SEO, & Webmaster for online retailer who sells MMA Shirts.

In addition to being quite hilarious, the article does give some solid reasons to buy an mma shirt.

Winners of MMA Shirt Shop's design contest get $1000...

MMA Shirt Shop's official website will launch early in 2010. Not only will the website provide the opportunity for users to submit shirt designs and purchase shirts online, but MMA Shirt Shop will also serve as an online community where users can share world MMA training reports, share personal shirt photos, and support up and coming designers. In addition, MMA Shirt Shop will have special shirts for sale, in which a substantial amount of revenue generated from these designs will be used to sponsor amateur and up and coming fighters. Like all submitted t-shirt designs, the community will vote on who will receive the sponsorship funds.
